Panchvati Ashram - Our Bundelkhand branch

During the autumn of 2021, when India and the world were still reeling under the burden of the Covid-19 pandemic, Vraja Kala Sanskriti Sansthana decided to step forward towards the future by expanding its scope of action. The establishment of a new branch in the culturally and historically significant region of Bundelkhand located right in the heart of India had been envisaged long before the pandemic, and now it was time to cast that vision into shape. A piece of land was acquired at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, the famous locality that is home to the magnificent 10th century groups of temples that count among the Unesco world heritage sites, and the construction of the new institute was initiated right away. For the craftsmen and construction workers involved in the project, this signified a new lease of life after the hardships they had to face during the pandemic.

Panchvati Ashram, the future Bundelkhand branch of Vraja Kala Sanskriti sansthana, was designed according to the fundamentals of Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian science of architecture. The basic construction was completed in February 2023, in its process providing numerous daily wage workers and their families with a temporary home and secure income during the construction period. The work is still in progress, and it is hoped that Panchvati Ashram will soon open its doors for scholars and students from all over the world wishing to investigate the rich cultural heritage of the Bundelkhand region. Located in a serene rural environment, Panchvati Ashramoffers not only provides the ideal surrounds for peace of mind and concentrated studies, but also follows the traditional way of life characterized by simplicity and a strong bond with nature.
